Hi there! I’m Amara — a Norwegian-Swede living in Australia with my partner and three cats. Fueled by coffee, adventure, and a deep love for storytelling, I write romantic suspense packed with heart-pounding twists, slow-burn tension, and complex characters who find love in the midst of chaos.
Growing up in Norway, I was the kid who would disappear into books for hours, devouring stories like they were oxygen (when I wasn’t out playing sports or climbing trees). Whether it was a school reading challenge (which I took way too seriously) or a creative writing task, I was all in. But life took me down a different path — I moved to Australia for university, studied law (and accounting), and became a lawyer.
For years, I barely allowed myself to read for pleasure, feeling guilty if I wasn’t buried in legal textbooks. But the moment I finished my degrees and picked up a novel again, it was like flipping a switch. Suddenly, my brain flooded with ideas, and I knew I had to start writing them down!
What started as jotting down notes in a notebook turned into fully developed stories — and one day, I decided to just start writing. I carved out time whenever I could — sometimes writing for hours into the night after long days at work — because I simply couldn’t not write.
That passion led me to finish my first book, ‘Where Shadows Whisper’ — the first book in a romantic suspense duet.
When I’m not lost in fictional worlds, I’m usually to be found by the water (who doesn’t love the beach?), gallavanting out in nature, or planning my next travel adventure with my partner.
I grew up spending summers on my family’s boat, practically living under the water more than above it — and like any good Scandinavian, I have a deep love for snowboarding, skiing, and cozying up in our family cabin in the Norwegian mountains with a good book by a crackling fire.
I’m a massive coffee addict, an avid traveler, and a huge Formula One and NFL fan. Recently, I’ve taken up mountain biking to add to my love for hiking as another wonderful reason to spend more time outdoors.
I love my family (and my adorable cats), I’m a huge animal lover, and
— of course — I’m an unapologetic book addict. My bookshelves are overflowing, and my to-be-read list?
